Present Tense: A Post
337 Exhibit

Salt Lake Art Center
August – September 2008

Present Tense: a Post 337 Project at the Salt Lake Art Center. Community as a complex system reveals itself through the contents of 210 canning jars in Trent Alvey’s, Urban Artifacts, inspired by the collaborative nature of the original 337 Project.

The texture, diversity, subtleties and strengths of a community reveals itself in this exhibit. Alvey is allowing the process to be a self-regulating, self-guided, tour of the community in which she lives. The jars from Present Tense were assembled by Alvey, as well as, many fellow artists, friends, relatives, businesses, etc from the community.
